Service call-out guarantee

Service call-outs are covered for three months from the date of the first visit.

If a return visit is reasonably required during this period concerning the same reported fault or work previously carried out, no additional call-out charge will be made.

The guarantee does not mean that the original call-out or labour charges are refundable, nor do those charges become credit towards replacement parts or additional labour. Any parts supplied and any further labour required to continue or complete the repair will remain chargeable.

The call-out charge covers attendance at the property and the first 30 minutes on site. It is not a fixed-price repair charge or a guarantee that every appliance can be successfully or economically repaired.

The guarantee does not require Appliance Lab to undertake work that is considered unsafe, impractical, unlikely to provide a reliable repair, or contrary to advice provided by the appliance manufacturer.

Parts guarantee

Parts supplied and fitted by Appliance Lab are guaranteed for three months from the date they are fitted, unless a different guarantee period is stated at the time of fitting.

The guarantee covers faults with the replacement part itself. It does not cover unrelated faults, accidental damage, misuse, interference or work carried out by another person, or failure caused by another component within the appliance.

PAYMENT TERMS

Appliance Lab accepts payment by cash, card, cheque or bank transfer.

Payment for service call-outs, labour and parts supplied is due within seven calendar days, starting from and including the date of the invoice.

Appliance Lab’s three-month guarantee is conditional upon the relevant invoice being paid in full. This does not affect the customer’s statutory rights.

If payment has not been received by the end of the seventh day, the invoice will be considered overdue and Appliance Lab may contact the customer to request payment.

If an overdue amount remains unpaid, Appliance Lab reserves the right to take reasonable steps to recover the debt and to claim any court fees, interest or reasonable recovery costs that may lawfully be recoverable. Any additional amount will be confirmed separately and will not replace or invalidate the original invoice.

For invoices issued to another business rather than a domestic customer, Appliance Lab reserves the right to claim statutory interest and debt-recovery costs where permitted under late-commercial-payment legislation.

Nothing in these terms and guarantees excludes or restricts the customer’s statutory consumer rights.

CANCELLATIONS

Booked service calls should be cancelled at least 24 hours before the scheduled appointment time.

If an appointment is cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or Appliance Lab attends but is unable to gain access to the property, a late-cancellation or aborted-call charge of half the normal call-out fee may be payable. This charge reflects the time reserved and the resulting loss of the appointment.

The charge will not be applied where the appointment can reasonably be reallocated or where the late cancellation resulted from exceptional circumstances outside the customer’s control.

Any cancellation or aborted-call charge must be paid within seven calendar days of the invoice date or, if another appointment is booked sooner, before any further work is carried out.

This cancellation policy does not affect any cancellation rights the customer may have under consumer law.

OWNERSHIP OF PARTS

Parts supplied by Appliance Lab remain the property of Appliance Lab until the invoice relating to those parts and the associated service call has been paid in full.

Appliance Lab will not enter a property or remove any fitted part without the customer’s agreement or other lawful authority.

This provision does not exclude or restrict the customer’s statutory consumer rights.
